This specialty course introduces you to diving with a mask that covers your eyes, nose, and mouth—allowing you to breathe through your nose and even speak with communication systems. Whether you’re diving in cold water, silty conditions, or just want to try something new, full face masks offer comfort, warmth, and versatility.
What You’ll Learn:
• Mask Setup & Adjustment: Get familiar with full face mask features, fittings, and proper donning techniques.
• Breathing and Clearing Techniques: Learn how to clear water from a full face mask and switch to alternate air sources when needed.
• Communication Options: Explore the use of surface or diver-to-diver communication systems (when available).
• Emergency Procedures: Practice handling mask flooding, removal, and switching to a backup regulator.
Course Includes:
• Two open water dives using a full face mask
• Hands-on practice with equipment fitting and removal
• Air sharing and problem management techniques
• Equipment care and maintenance guidance
Prerequisites:
• PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
• Minimum age: 12 years
