• Teaching Skills & Techniques: Learn how to present classroom, confined water, and open water lessons with confidence and clarity.
• Course Standards & Structure: Get familiar with the PADI system of education and how to conduct PADI programs from Discover Scuba Diving to Divemaster.
• Risk Management & Safety: Understand your responsibilities as an instructor and how to create a safe, supportive learning environment.
• Student Psychology & Support: Explore how people learn, what motivates them, and how to adapt your teaching to meet student needs.
• Professional Presentation: Refine your communication, organization, and instructional techniques to professional-level standards.
Course Includes:
• The PADI IDC (Assistant Instructor + Open Water Scuba Instructor)
• Knowledge development and workshops (online and in-person)
• Confined water and open water teaching practice
• Preparation for the PADI Instructor Examination (IE)
• Coaching and mentorship from experienced PADI Course Directors
Prerequisites:
• PADI Divemaster (or equivalent)
• 18 years old
• 60 logged dives to start, 100 to certify
• CPR and First Aid training within 24 months (EFR recommended)
• Medical clearance to dive within the last 12 months
